![]() We're going to open up our back hatch here and you'll see we'll have plenty of clearance that we don't have to worry about that making contact, which means we can still gain access into our back hatch area. Now we already have out bike secured down, we're first going to show you one great feature about this rack. ![]() Today on our 2016 GMC Yukon, we're doing a test fit of the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail roof top bike rack. Rhino Rack MountainTrail Roof Bike Racks Review - 2016 GMC Yukon No where local had a replacement, rendering the bike rack unusable until another could be shipped out. Not too much of a bother to me until the pin got misplaced/lost. It works pretty good as long as you don't mind threading on the pin each time you use the rack. Another slight draw back is the hitch pin, it's threaded. Thankfully we are able to make it work with the girls bar and can get 5 bikes on. Making the mounts that the frame sits on a different/smaller shape really would have helped the smaller frames. The 26" DJ's will not slide onto the back 2 spots either. Most 20" frames will fit in the first 3 spots but we use the girls bar to get the 20" inch frames to the back two spots. A work around we use is to install a girls bike bar that goes from the seat post to handle bar on the 20 inchers. We had one 20" bike that wouldn't fit on the rack at all. We ride 20" bmx style bikes and 26" dirt jumpers. They are fairly tall and prevent smaller framed bikes from sliding past. The limitation is the plastic mounts that the bike frame sits on. The doors on this SUV are already heavy, and it is very easy to have a door ajar.Very nice design overall but it is geared to larger framed bikes. Had this occurred on the open road, a serious accident could have resulted. Example: I began backing out of my house one day when one of the doors began to open. Have pushed or pulled the passenger door open. I put the key in the ignition and the dome light turned of. Through the driver's side door and closed it (only the driver's side door). ![]() I then pushed the passenger door towards it's housing just enough for metal to touch metal (or the apparent sensor), but still "open" in that, without engaging the door opening mechanism, I could still pull it open. ![]() The dome light turned on, because it is apparently a standard feature for the light to come on when a door is opened for people to get in and out. Another example: I opened a rear passenger door of my Yukon and the driver's door. The key in the ignition and starts the vehicle. Three passengers does not close his/her door completely. Opened, so there would not be cause for alarm as doors close. Light will turn on no matter what at this juncture because the doors were A driver enters a Yukon along with three passengers. Is there legislation regarding a door ajar warning system and can anything be done about gm? below are examples of what can or has occurred. I have seen other internet complaints regarding this system in gm products. Gm has made an apparent misrepresentation, fooling customers into believing that the courtesy dome light system (which turns on when the door is open) is a door ajar warning system. Gm has written, indicating that there is a "standard" door ajar warning system when there is not. Some gm products, including my 2001 GMC Yukon, do not come with a door ajar warning system.
